Stop Spending! Oh, and Cut Capital Gains
Posted by Brian Garst on June 30, 2010
Rick Santelli, whose famous rant in early 2009 is credited with sparking the Tea Party movement, has done it again. This time he waved his arms on the floor of the Chicago Board of Traders while screaming “stop spending,” in order to explain his simple solution to reducing deficits. But while there was a highly amusing debate on this point between Santelli and Steve Liesman, no one objected to the assertion that the capital gains rate should be zero.
